Employer’s Guide to Child Care Solutions in New York State
The Business Navigator is a guide designed to help employers understand their employees' child care needs and connect them with relevant tax credits, employee benefits, HR services, and other child care resources.
- Employer-sponsored child care is an investment in the workforce that yields significant returns. There are an array of options for employers.
- The Business Navigator includes essential resources, case studies, and regional contacts to begin the process or augment a plan already in place.
- Through the collaborative efforts of Early Care & Learning Council (ECLC), the Child Care Resource Center (CCRC) network, and the Regional Economic Development Councils (REDCs), Child Care Resource Center Business Navigators will connect employers with child care services and focus on understanding the needs of both employers and employees, navigating economic and logistical considerations, and delivering resources such as this toolkit that can be meaningful in a variety of circumstances across the state. All funding for the Business Navigator has been provided by OCFS. Investing in family-friendly policies and child care can:

- increase productivity

About the Guide
- The Business Navigator is funded by the Office of Children and Family Services, created by Early Care & Learning Council, and supported by 10 leading Child Care Resource Centers. This child care guide supports Governor Kathy Hochul’s initiative to make New York State’s child care system fairer, more affordable, and easier to access. Resources in the guide will help employers:
- expand the availability of child care,
- promote ways to make child care more affordable, and
- promote family-friendly workplace policies to help balance the stress between work and family.
